My name is Alysha Coffey. I am a wife and mom of 4. I was born and raised in Belen, NM. Where my love for this sport started. I began swimming for the Belen Hurricanes in 1996 and swam with the team until 2007. I started teaching kids to swim at 15 years old as a lifeguard and after my own practice to help the younger kids. I eventually became an assistant coach for the Hurricanes in 2014-2018. I love this sport and have a deep appreciation for the water and making sure people are confident and safe while in it. Seeing a child reach the other end of the pool for the first time, witnessing a swimmer cut time in their race, and watching a swimming family develop is the greatest feeling as a coach! I am beyond humbled and excited for this opportunity! We are going to have a great summer. See you on deck! Coach Alysha
